Black Mango 2026

Some new pictures of the Black Mango. This 3 plants they was not selected for the seeds but I think is interesting to have an idea also of different expressions

As you can see from the background the Black Mango is not growing in "purity" but on fields with Tiger Tail and Squirrel Tail and Foitong all together. This is very common thing on the traditional farmers fields. very rarely the genetics are grown separately and for this reason there is debate amongst the farmers if is correct to call them as separate genetics or it will be more correct separate them as phenotypes. Farmers are usually working on groups of villagers that every harvest they collect all the seeds together and they separate them again the next year. Incredible but true the next year you will get a same / similar amount of trees for each variety. Hundreds of farmers and nobody agree why this happens. There are also other groups that they use different method: they have some farmers who grow only the seeds and sell them to the others who will grow only for the flowers . This seeds are considered more valuable and if you're not in their group is hard to get them. Who is right who is wrong you decide. Anyway my dream is to have a small team of 3 farmers who specialize on fields where Tiger Tail, Foitong and Black Mango are growing separately (Squirrel Tail no need because we have farmers they grow pure squirrel tail alone already)

If you're interested in support a farmer to be a holder of one of this genetics in collaboration with your brand visits patreon.com/Prempavee the Tier "adopt a traditional farmer" even in this days we have again the police disturbing the most hidden farmers on the mountain because "not GACP conform and not licensed" and they are pushing them down to grow where they can be controlled and pushed to quit or "regularize" their position. So we don't know about the future we can still try to save what we can save.

Very sad to hear this bullshit
They are hurting the most important part of ganja in Thailand, the heritage

I really hope someone understands the importance and can step up and help you with adopt a farmer, what an amazing effort you are making Prem :folded_hands:

I got pt33 license and from what i can understand the absolute maximum of plants me and my wife can grow is 15 plants for one person or 20 for two in one household
Only for self medicating
That is what AI tells me ? Does it sound right

AI is always wrong.. there's not law at the moment

They only want to scare everyone to make people believe that there is the law. But there is no law yet

Ok thank you
but then i dont understand why police is bothering the farmers, what is their motivation when there's not even a proper law
Someone is pushing them hard to change it

They're gonna loose, it's too late after letting 4000 people from jail and giving out 1 million plants to people

555 AI is always wrong, i like that:victory_hand:

Yes someone is pushing them. I think because they don't have enough support for pass the law so they try to get everyone convinced that is passed already. But is a bluff. Anyway many now are stressed. I also believe that they cannot succeed. Ganja is a blessing

Black Mango coming back from being neglected in a small pot too long Gave them a round of foliar spray with fulvic/humic acid and magnesium couple days ago and they got potted in my living soil mix 5 days ago This time i added 30% landsoil from farm I'm allways amazed by how strong and tolerant these Thai landraces is They would have been fine without the foliar but they bounce back a lill faster with it

Prempavee, do you by chance have any photos of a Black Mango male?

He looks so big , but is more than one plant there maybe 5 males and 3 females something like that and they don't purple too much because they are growing out of season only for the seeds. (Not released yet)

Even not all black mangoes are black/darkpurple you can recognize and distinguish them from the Purple Thai family because the thinner leaves and the very distinct Terps profile (most of Black Mango they smell like Yellow mango fruit and most of Purple Thai like berries)

In most cases they are also much less leafy compared to the Purple Thai. But there are exceptions from both.

Black mango has also black color reflection on the leaves sometimes very marked and almost always (but not always always) noticeable especially on pictures or some specific light contrasts.

Another picture of a heavy pollinated female flower with the males and one more female on the background

I regret not to take more photos of males we always focus on the girls but the boys are beautiful and interesting too

Especially this year, for example, we had the most beautiful Mekhong Classic male we ever seen and we did not take a sigle picture of him despite we made hundreds photos and several videos of the female that was just next to him :smiling_face_with_tear:

I'll definitely take many more from now on

Now that is some solid numbers after one year :ganja:
Can i ask how you dry and keep them ? In a fridge ?

I have a controlled temperature room. For the more expensive flowers I have a canteen. I like a fridge but you can keep temperature between 10 and 21 degrees (I usually keep at 18). But Black Mango was not stored in the canteen just in the room. If you keep them well they stay perfect for over two years now I can see also 3 years some ganja keep very nice terps burnability and structure. But not all the genetics the same

Thanks
I can imagine it helps a lot to keep at a stable temp all year round

I noticed when i take in and out of cooler many times 4C to 34C:sweat_smile: they loose smell and quality pretty fast

In Norway i was spoiled with cold rooms all year except couple weeks in summer

Yes the temperature has to be stable as much as possible , every variation you lose little bit of something and of course has to be in a range of min/max also. Both the too cold and the too hot they not good

To keep repaired from light is also essential for long term storage

Interesting, what made him so special? And if you used his pollen when will those seeds be ready:grimacing:

Yes I have collected his pollen. Actually I have some pictures and videos from when I put the paper bags around him. Was so special because he looked exactly as I think a Mekhong Classic should be: beatifull , elegant, the structure perfectly symmetrical, the sticky around the branches and the base of the leaves, the smell like a green apple (that is one things I looking for to select Mekhong Classic) and his aura in the field I cannot explain with words him just perfect. I had also others Mekhong Classic makes that I kept but he was the more strong , the most vigorous.. and so and so. Look I have found some photo and videos of him but he is already with the bags on to controll the pollen. That day I have documented that process but did not take images of him before
