ceiling (indica heads can’t get this: the more you smoke of it the greater the experience is expanding)

shelf life (and long curing:2-3 years in glass jars)

Many strains originated from that one and many kept secret what they had used for breeding..
He spoke once about genetic screening being done on the american market and i think he said it revealed 60-70 percent came from his breeding stock, correct me if i’m wrong it was a long time ago

I walked out the door when he offered sixty cents a seed and never bothered to call him back. The primary colors of Cannabis in 1985 on Was Haze , Skunk #1 and of course the Northern Lights genets we created in Seattle.

This is partially true but the reason is that in the wine industry the lost all local genetics of grapes
Before when they have many landraces also the grapes and the wine was delivering very different kinds of effects, also uplifting, or more hilarious, and so on..

Very true, his comparison is about the wine industry situation as modern Agro-business dictated it to grow. It’s what is at risk too with the medicalisation and confiscation of the cannabis plants by the medical lobby: they will dictate a unique way of perceiving it (and orientate the culture for their goals: for example a doctor 7/7 in every dispensary) and try to kill any other point of view that could become a competitor (in their mind it’s all about money).

If you want to reminisce about your creations I think we would be a lot to be interested in the story of the Northern Lights.
You should open a thread about it, like how it was back in the day whithout commercial grow lights, did you have a lot of trouble with the police or the neighbours, your relation with Steve Murphy, did you have a preferred pheno (except the NL #5), specificity of the thai cross (NL #7 ?) … I’m sure we all have a lot more questions about those legendary cultivars and what you have created after those.
