As the plant continues to grow and get bigger by the day im starting to plan for the finish line even tho its long ways away but according to the calendar and current state of the plant im thinking early November,maybe, but doubt any earlier im wondering if i should bring it in and finish it or letting it ride and put straw around the pot to insulate the roots, early November gets in the 50-55f range so i have a bit of a challenge ahead , so your opinions finish indoor or let it ride?

Do you have pictures? Maybe you can try to take cuts and make them flowering indoors. But if some other Mekhong Classic growers in the US has something to add will be interesting as I’m not experienced of that time zone. Light deprivation may help to anticipate flowering time, and of course also indoor , if the transplant is not too traumatic for a big plant, should serve the scope.

I feel she needs a bigger pot if she can ginish outdoor i will give 15-20 gallon but if i gotta finish indoor i gotta be able to move her so keep pot smaller

She will definitely need bigger pot, when they stretch in flowering time they can double or even triple the size, more space and food they have more they grow

I don’t think she will die for the cold , but I cannot guarantee that .. me I cannot stay in cold weather

I think she will be ok and maybe i can build a temporary greenhouse around her or maybe wont get that cold has been warmer then normal so i think im gonna transplant and let her rip and get big as possible and pray thanks prem

One more question prem, what is the flowering time for you in thailand? Like 14-16 weeks for mekhong right? And some others like foitong or squirrel tail even longer like 20+ weeks?

She is an old landrace , same as the others sometimes even more she can flowering for very long time. Anyway landraces are not all the same. Some individuals are faster than others. In the big fields landraces (at least the one that I was able to observe myself) they never flower all together some are incredibly fast some super slow. How will be your ? Need to watch to know. This why I have seen some “landrace” growers that they grow from other areas doing tests with cuts, but is very time consuming so the best option it may be just observe

To “relax” you I can tell that most of them they can be harvested after 10 weeks already but of course yield not same as you wait 14-16 is a kind of safe range

I would either bring it on, or use ceramic pots and memorial candles to keep it warm at night as it gets cool in the fall. I’m born and bred and living in SW PA (West side Pittsburgh) and that’s what I do for my salvia divinorums towards the end of the season b4 they gotta come in to winter in the tent. They only exist in a small tract of Mexican Cloud forest so they love the humidity of the 3 rivers and our summers here in the humid Burgh but winter is dark and brutal. Candles save my ass frequently on cold fall nights, bricks by a rolling, hot firepit by day make good heat at night also! If you’re on IG there’s a farmer from UT I think named “Chadsmigley” he is a fortified, 365 days a year solar powered greenhouse wizard, he does peach trees and stuff, he uses Hay and tarps and other cool methods. Let her RUN my brother!!! Figuring out ripeness on Cannabis is an art in itself IME/IMHO and I have a friend named “Tonglensong” on IG who I think is an equatorial sativa growing wizard who always encourages me to let things ripen much more than my hurried self would have allowed previously…I let them plants tell me when they’re done and the smells and crystal prove my buddy was being sincere and a good friend with his advice to me. Was gonna put in bigger pot but this will have to do for duration say a 4-5g not ideal,gonna take a few clones to preserve it but gonna leave it out full term , lots of LST and see what happens i will worst case if things go south hang a light in garage and finish, been preventing bugs with peppermint castile soap cause had a leaf/grasshopper attack not on mekhong tho thank god them caterpillars coming too not o nlu eat your plant they give a big FU by poop in the buds and cause bud rot but mekhong known for fungal resistance and im gonna be out here with some sort of IPM, BT, peppermint soap,i have this peroxide meant for plants so all this in my arsenal i think i can pull it off wish me luck and good luck on all your 2026 harvests
