First grow under less than ideal circumstances but making it work. Hyperion F1 hybrid grown in the Midwest United States. Got pushed to grow because the legal and black market are cutting corners and rushing the curing process and most people just don’t seem to care so learning to do it myself.
Very limited on what I can do with it and not topping or anything like that rn but so far ok. Grown with organic soil and soil amendments*Hyperion F1 Autoflower. Also you got any genetics that would grow well here for next year?

I don’t know if anyone has any, but I know abandoned hemp fields from around world war 2 have gone feral in MN and throughout the Midwest. Maybe if you can find some seeds/plants you can breed for disease and pest resistance.

Hey, @Alex , congratulations on growing your own! Best descision. There are countless varieties that will grow well (and finish) in the “Midwest”.
You could check any Köppen-Geiger climate map, for example here:
and locate your exact zone and find out your latidude. Some sites will have information as to which strains fit. I am not sure whether it is ok to post links to other seed sites here, but if you find one, you can compare their information (flowering time, finishing month, resistance to cold and heat) to get an idea. Then you will know what to look for.
Of course, a lot depends on your local microclimate and surrondings (street lights, light pollution from neighbors…).
But most photo independent auto varieties will grow well just about anywhere in the US

The Hyperion is a beautiful smoke! It’s built on very similar genetics to Amnesia Lemon 
I’ve enjoyed all of Royal Queen’s F1 autos, they’re very resilient, well bred plants
I would highly recommend Sensi seeds’ Early Skunk for outdoor growth. It’s skunk#1 x Early Pearl, and it practically grows itself! lol. It has that classic, Dutch skunk profile, but it’s a lot more potent than the original skunk line was.
The mother plant; Early Pearl, is another great outdoor plant. It’s sativa dominant and extremely high yielding.
The original owner of Sensi Seeds, Neville Shoenmakers, bred these strains specifically for outdoor growing in countries with less than ideal climates. They’re incredibly stable and resilient, and because they’re photo period strains, you can train them properly and the yield will be considerably higher than it would with an auto flowering variety.
Zkittlez and Zkittlez dominant crosses are usually very resilient with the weather too.
Watermelon punch is my favourite Zkittlez cross. It’s an amazing smoke that grows in almost any climate! It’s watermelon Zkittlez x purple punch, and it’s bred by Grower’s Choice.
I’m in the UK, so I spent many years searching for weather hardy weed strains. I’ve compiled a big list of extremely tolerant cannabis cultivars that don’t sacrifice flavour or potency for resilience.
White Widow is another great plant that’ll grow almost anywhere.
There are tons of autos out there, but the modern ones are extremely sensitive and the older ones are weak and lackluster.

Not the greatest photos but the progress on my first plants. There are a lot of rabbits so hence the wire net I weaved poorly. On day 32 and stain is Hyperion Autoflower. Growing in the Midwest United States and am definitely limited in what I should grow outdoors. Right now I’m trying to figure out when and where to pick bottom nodes/leaves off and top dress in like a week for flowering. Right now they are growing vigorously. I’ve had a few bugs but the couple applications of neem oil seemed to keep most away and the bigger the plant gets seems like less bugs so I hope that’s the terpenes scaring them away. Next year I’m probably going to grow in more serious manner. Happy Growing. Feel free to leave some advice

Indica without naming strains. I’m at 48° North. Indica does real well outdoor. Short growing season and am able to bring to harvest.
Get a jump start on the season by starting indoors in March. Mid August start light degradation. I pull very larged black plastic trash bags over the plants late afternoon and force 12/12 until daylight is at 13 hours. Helps beat the first hard frost.
Checkout Green Mountain Seeds. He has some mexican cultivars bred for cold climates.

I’m located up in North Ohio right on the snow belt and we usually get to the first or second week of October for harvest and if the Indian summers good you can progressively harvest up till November for Outdoors
If you wanted to DM your address I’ll send you seeds of some strains I’ve found to be resilient in our climate.
