Their influence here is definitely way longer bigger than Coca Cola or any big Pharma or multinational. The problem is that right now them not happy anymore about ganja. They feel betrayed by everyone in the industry and they don’t believe anymore is for restore their economy as it was promised at the beginning, so they start to hate the ganja as they lost money and they don’t care. Without them there is no future for cannabis in Thailand. How you think was possible to free the plant since the beginning. Because the promise to the farmers from poor areas to restore their economy.

but I'm afraid people in it for the money really don't care about Thai independent farmers.
The nightmare I foresee (in the law-makers intentions) is a cannabis industry reduced to US cannabis industry model, imported seeds (sometimes crossed with some Thai landrace to stamp the name "Thai cannabis" on it), medical-industrialised approach and not even the crumbs for rural Thai farmers.
My ideal is a multitude of organic growers able to make a decent living with their crop (not optimised industrial scaled businesses focused on making millions), rural and local markets development, recognition for preservation work and its culture; Thai lawmakers seem to chose a totally different path, Thai rural farmers are right to be angry.

You must understand that in Thailand there is no government and there is no law that can last without the farmers
This is not because of a personal idea, this are the geopolitical circumstances
Most of Thai people are small farmers from rural areas and most of them are from the red economic areas
So if some business people they believe they can hold Thai legalization without them they will get deluded and we all be back to prohibitions in no time..
About 46% of people in Thailand is living in rural areas and the 30% of the whole national workforce are farmers

So you don’t think a dual status quo policy (already in place in Europe where private industry grow and sell cannabis internationally but citizens and rural farmers risk jail sentences if they grow or use it) isn’t possible in Thailand: where big industry would have licence to process cannabis in their facilities while people would have to be prescribed by a doctor to use it and couldn’t grow their own, and farmers told to grow something else or only work for big licensed buyers ?
I admit I’m a pessimist, but the bill they propose goes that way.

If that is going to happen. Those big players, they will just have a short time win and will go back to prohibitions. What you call “dual state” is not legalization but modern prohibitionism. Nobody in the world has really liberalized the ganja. For what I know, only Thailand did.

We will be under prohibitions until anyone will feel the need to apply regulations and laws to a plant.
I’m favorable on some regulations for the big players about methods of grow. Why indoors (excluded home growers) are even allowed to exist in hot countries? Why not organic imputs are allowed?
Regulations they should be in place to safeguard the health of the people, and increase the growth of the market, not reducing it.
Ganja is not only for smoking , ganja is for replace pharma medicines, petrol , cement, cotton..

I agree. But not all ganja people is currently fighting the correct way and follow them blindly can be detrimental.
Activist like Kitty for example they look pro ganja at the first glance, but if you check better they agree to have people in the jail for ganja (without license).
I don’t agree with them. I believe ganja has to be totally freed and normalized (as it is currently in Thailand).

Thats exactly what i mean only fight to keep it legal to grow and use, thats the only thing that matters now, without that we’re just slaves to a new world system

We can make only hypothesis, but the usual suspects is the US governments and the pharmaceutical and oil companies.. maybe also Alchool and heavy drugs black market them not happy about ganja legal

Yes. They do this every year since the first year. Anticannabis people and big corporate Interests they try changing things but all the can do for now is propaganda. We have to be careful because this is a quantum dimensions and if many people belives than can happen (the media establishment know this very well) . Anyway in Thailand seems that those who believes that ganja should be free from this kind of rules are the strongest.
