I’m going based on look and smell right now but I don’t wanna call the girls the wrong name the seeds came from some outdoor GDP that somehow got seeds/ pollen from somewhere? soo if there’s any labs that anyone knows that would be great ![]()
This is a good question. I think there are some labs that are specialized on this task. I don’t think is cheap but should be possible. Where are you located?
In Nevada I just rather use something known if it’s expensive it’s worth it in the long run what about just testing the content so I can make legit labels
would that be the same type of lab?
I don’t have previous personal experience with them but from Google I was able to find this links
There are many more.. try out and let me know. I’m very curios about this topic.
No, it’s not possible…yet
The closest you could get is a list of possible relatives, like what Phylos does. Because all we have now at our disposal is relative market banking.
But even then, there’s no way to remove GDP from the markers to get a result that’s just what the pollen donor would be. They aren’t anywhere close to being able to distinguish parental inheritance from testing the progeny.
Interesting. Some time ago I have been contacted by a “preservation project” that they asked me to send them my seeds to be tested to check if they where true landraces or not. So they was not true?
Yea figures as much I usually go on smell and physical traits when I do what I’m doing now usually the plant likes to go back to the strongest genetics no matter the pollen from my experience but it’s just for fun till I can order something from Amsterdam or something to compare the contrast appreciate the input ![]()
I’ll look at these if anything at least maybe I can get product tested at the end of season for legit packaging ![]()
I don’t know the extent of the information they can test for that’s why I asked but really if they have a certain way to tell it’s landrace it would probably be easier maybe there’s something about the landrace where it’s easy to tell? All the store type strains now if you happen to get some seeds you can get quite a varying variety so it probably doesn’t look as harmonic on graph
is what I’m thinking.
I’d like to get some of your seeds for next season tho ![]()
ITS ROSE CITY! ![]()
That sounds very sketchy.
If they said they were a genetic or genome company, if maybe believe them
Saying they are preservation company hints to me that they are just looking to acquire heirloom genetics to resell. Kind of like The Landrace Team going around the forums asking for peoples rare heirloom genetics to preserve, only to F2 those seeds and sell them at their own store while staying in the description that they went to that specific country to find the seeds themselves.
ACE did this over a decade ago as well. And look at how big that company is.
Yes was them, they contacted me from IG several times I didn’t believe them and I didn’t send. If they do this to many people maybe we should expose? Or maybe I can invite them here to explain what about from their point of view?
ACE (you mean acesseds.org ?) he has visited me in person and from my experience he was very correct and supportive. He is also one of the moderator in this platform ![]()

There’s a few threads over at ICMag exposing The Landrace Team.
They pretty much contact anyone posting landraces to ask for seeds so they can make more and sell them without giving any credit for where they came from
Never forget phylos ! Collectin data and releasin strains themselves shortly after ! Smells like this
Ace never tested themself, Dubi was like many other , asked by phylos to test genetic origin of plants
Nobody can tell the difference between columbian gold from snowhigh( always give credit never claim to have hunted yourself!) or an old timer haze , so testin to see if its real landrace is just not possible, nobody can do this and most likely never will.
Yes, looks like they contacting people telling that they will test their seeds and give some kind of certification or guarantee to them about the origin of the genetics , but the truth they just get some seeds for free and they make more from it and resell. Not good to do that.
I think more than “testing” as seeds retailers, is important to give credit to the source and even more important to pay them for the seeds…
This one is pretty cool! Little easier than having to schedule an appointment thanks !
