Hello everyone. Been rubbing charas for four or five seasons now, but this season been rubbing autos and early flowering plants. last week was my first time doing it in the morning, and I got less plants material, but way less return. Then rubbed charas yesterday at the hottest part of the day, (35 C), and it was way more return, but more plant material. It’s been fun doing this, but it is for sure hard work. I make a day or at least 4 hours. Roll up some spliff, make sure you have water and chai, and then touch very little other than plants. I have a video, but it is too big to be uploaded!! Do you just rub the flowers between your hands until the resin sticks, then scrape/rub the resin into the pellets? I know charas is hand rubbed live resin, but I don’t actually know the “how” of how it’s made.

Yes you get leafs off with no trichomes and then rub the kola in between your hands with slight pressure. Then like 4-9 hours later have resin caked on your hands. Then you can get the resin to stick to the resin on your hand. And just stick it to the resin and pull up, should collect everything off hands, and then can roll into a ball or what ever shape you want.

Do you eventually toss the cola, or does it break apart? On another note, how much flower does it take to get a usable amount of charas?

Yes, i toss in my pots so goes back in my soil eventually. I feed leafs to my ducks, and I eat them too. It depends on the Cultivar, you kind of want the opposite of water hash, that grainy is great for water hash, not so much for charas. Want sticky gummy ones. I would say an oz of live material will give you anywhere from 0.5 to 2 grams. I’ve rubbed close to probably a quarter pound and gotten like 7-10 grams, thats a full day, starting in the morning about 0800-1800. I would imagine the landrace from Kashmir and Parvati Valley would produce way more, that’s what people have bred for a millenia.

This is incredible! Happy to share. I’m half Indian, and been doing this as a way to get back with my ancestors. Also would love to make Bhang this year, and once I figure it out make an instructional video on that as well.

I was wondering do you have to cure or age charas (or hash for that matter), or is it ready to consume a soon as it’s been rubbed?

Better aged. You can consume immediately but taste not good the same unless you like more ruff

Yes you can consume right away, but it is harsher. Nice to let cure and age!
