Introduction
Introducing something for those who often hesitate to experience Landrace verities, I remember we introduced Hopar Valley mixed packs some time ago and people shared their wonderful insights with me how their first landrace ever grown was our Hopar Valley Mixed seeds offering which was not certainly handpicked rather generalized seeds of the crop that is being grown in the region.For past years we’ve focused on carefully selected, farmer-specific collections of small releases representing the finest expressions we discovered during our field work.
Population Series
The 𝗣𝗼𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 is our invitation to experience authentic landraces collection in their rawest form.
Rather than narrowing the gene pool to a handful of finest selected expressions, these packs preserve the broader diversity found within a single geographical origin. Every seed comes from the same region, yet every plant has the potential to tell a different story.
One may finish early.
Another may flower for weeks longer.
That’s exactly how traditional populations are meant to be experienced with huge diversity and thrilling unexpected phenotypes.
These aren’t “budget” versions of our premium collections. They’re an opportunity to witness the variation that existed before decades of modern breeding narrowed those
possibilities, also the price will be considered less than our hand picked selections.
For newcomers, it’s an affordable introduction to the world of landraces.
For experienced growers and breeders, it’s a chance to hunt through authentic regional diversity and discover something truly their own.
Explore the population
It will include the general population from our documented and undocumented fields of Open pollinated Landraces present in each geographical region.
In those 15 regular seeds from Pakistan Population series it will include seeds from open pollinated landrace fields of Northern Pakistan, North West Pakistan and South West Pakistan. These locations cover all of the domesticated Landrace crops geographically present in Pakistan.
And for the Afghanistan Population Series we will include the Southern Desert region, South Western and Eastern Afghanistan geographical locations in those 15 reg seeds of the Afghan population series.
