Tigertail 2025

I just got my pictures from last season sorted and thought I’d share some.

Seeds from Prempavee

The plants was sown by my mother in law  who is now 84, they were also dried and cured by her

The soil in the pots was mostly hard clay soil, so i can surely say it’s an hardy cultivar and i’m very surprised how well they did in there

I did repot some of them as well as re amend the soil the best i could

This is what i saw when i returned to thailand that season 2025

A few more shots

I did spray them with smoky neem oil and it was the first time in thailand that i was able to control the insect population somewhat

I also checked em most every day and removed what i found good or bad:sweat_smile: still trying to grasp that part, at least i know ladybugs are beneficial

This “eggs” are cocoon from wasps? In that case they may be beneficial because this kind of wasp they kill caterpillars and other bugs that they otherwise eat you ganja. Anyway is they’re already empty like in this picture you can remove them.

Oh very good to know if i em see again i’ll leave em be

:+1: luckily they didn’t seem to mind the neem oil though or i maybe missed that spot

I see you are keeping them in pots, may I ask why?

I can understand why you ask :joy: they were really suffering from small root space

My first idea was to protect them from too much rain, I’ve been an indoor grower all my life

And some places granny have used poladan (ant poison) I was worried the plants would suck it in

My wife was also worried I hit pvc pipes(it’s a small garden

The smaller pots have hole under and the plants got taller and healthier, I also dug hole in the ground under the pots with some compost soil

This year I will also try straight in the ground as I’ve already prepared some holes with cow dung/biochar

Yes I think that you should transplant them directly on soil. But if you have problems as you mentioned in my opinion you have two options:

1- you use bigger , much bigger pots

Or

2- you grow them more late on the season like that they will flowering more early and the plants they will be smaller

Anyway is very nice to see them , they are good looking overall amazing job :raising_hands:

Thanks :folded_hands:

Yes I will try some bigger pots and some in the ground

How late in the season can I plant and still have finished flower?

Here in Thailand the more late I can transplant directly in soil is mid December (but I prefer to anticipate one or two months of the season allow), because is too late for the normal season I add extra artificial light for 2 max 4 weeks than I remove the artificial light and I can harvest them about 10/12 weeks later.

If you do fast like this you compromise yield but you don’t compromise quality or effects contrary to the almost of the people on the web (not Thai people of course) will say

Ideally you can wait longer between 14/18 weeks of flowering you will get a kind of product and from 20 even to 24 another. I think they can flower even more than 26 weeks if the conditions are optimal even maybe 32 weeks .. more you wait more the become gigantic and probably complex (?) on subtle compounds but not very different on THC .. younger plants will have more CBG (uplifting) older ones will have more CBN (sedative)

I choose to make short time because more you wait more you risk problems and from the lab testing that I have been able to run untill now the long time do not really justify the risk

When they become tall like this is more or less the time I remove the artificial light.

I need to do this extra light for landraces only when I want to make faster, but is not needed when you can transplant before mid November

Wow that is so great knowledge and it explains so much

The first plants I grew in Thailand(seeds sourced locally)

Was planted early in rainy season and one plant grew over 5 meters high

The flowering was amazingly slow and long, unfortunately they had a lot of mold and insect

I will try this practise and take some cuttings from my early plants

Thanks a lot :folded_hands:

Do you leave the light on all night or only some hours ?

No need all need just a couple of hours extra for landrace is enough and about 4 / 5 hours extra for hybrids
