What do you use for fertilizer? Do you have any brands or recipes?

Hey guys, what do you use for fertilizer? Right now I’ve been using General Hydro MaxiGrow for veg but I found out its not organic and I wanna keep my grows as natural as possible. Do you guys have any brands or recipes for both vegetative nutrients and flower nutrients?

I usually make my own compost and some fermented fruits .. but we also have one brand that is organic / vegan and supportive to the 1st Ganja Cup - the name is Anarchy Nutrients

Aloha & We try to do precision nutrition depending on the crop and the six stages of growth. We use Chicken pellets, Turkey pellets, Biochar and four types of Calcium with Calcium Hydroxide ,Calcium Carbonate, Dolomite Lime and Gypsum. We add 500 mg of nitrogen per liter of substrate two or three times as needed as a top dress.

BioBizz, Nectar of the Gods or go totally organic and research " Korean Natural Farming" very simple and straight forward. i grow Comfrey has many uses and benefits in the garden and a excellent plant for KNF! highly recommend checking out some videos or reading up, for bottles BioBizz is great products & Microbe Life products or Build a Soil website

I use native soil amended with mushroom compost, worm castings and perlite and a little bit of sphagnum moss i feed the soil with blackstrap molasses. Other than that, I use epsom salt, chicken poo, bone meal and blood meal and granular humid acid.

Foxfarm - Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom. Mostly OMRI approved (organic). Has feeding schedule all stages of growth.

However if you get NPK RAW products you can feed N,P,K according to stage your in. Add Epsom Salt for magnesium and Sulpher. The only nutrients required to grow weed. You’ll notice the difference when you stop following the trend.

If you choose organic soil amendments. You really only need some type of guano based plant food. (I e. Big Bloom] Coupled with a monthly feeding of epsom salt

There is no one set NPK ratio for all plants. Let this info serve as a general guide.

Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca), Magnesium (Mg), and Sulphur (S) are all that is needed to grow healthy plants. Cal-Mag if you must but better to separate the two. Magnesium is more important than Calcium. Epsom salt satisfies Mg and S. Later you can chase micronutrients if you want.

I - NPK Ratios for Marijuana Growth Stages

Seedling Stage
N-P-K Ratio: 1-1-1 to 2-1-2, with very low overall nutrient strength (around 25% of full dose).
Purpose: Focus on establishing roots and initial leaves; nitrogen is needed minimally, while phosphorus and potassium support early root development

Tips: Avoid overfeeding to prevent nutrient burn; seedlings rely mainly on stored seed energy.

Vegetative Stage
N-P-K Ratio: Typically 3-1-2, 3-1-1, or 4-2-1, favoring nitrogen
Purpose: Nitrogen promotes lush, leafy growth, strong stems, and chlorophyll production. Phosphorus supports root development, while potassium ensures overall plant vigor and disease resistance.

Feeding Notes: Autoflower plants may prefer 20–30% lower nutrient strength than photoperiod plants. Maintain proper pH (soil 6.2–6.8, coco 5.8–6.2, hydro 5.5–6.0) and monitor EC for proper uptake.

Early Flowering (Pre-flower)
N-P-K Ratio: Around 1-3-2 or 1-2-2
Purpose: Plants transition from leaf and stem growth to bud development. Phosphorus becomes critical for flower formation and resin production, while potassium supports bud density and overall plant health. Nitrogen is reduced but still slightly present.

Feeding Notes: Gradually lower nitrogen from vegetative levels over the first 1–2 weeks of flowering.

Late Flowering (Final 3–4 Weeks)
N-P-K Ratio: 0-3-3 or 0-4-4
Purpose: Nitrogen is minimized; focus is on high phosphorus and potassium to maximize bud development, density, trichome production, and overall flower quality.

Flushing Practice: (During the grow hen in doubt Flush first and readjust your feed.) Some growers switch to plain water or dilute nutrients in the last 1–2 weeks to remove residual salts and optimize flavor, especially in inert media such as hydro or coco.

Medium Considerations
Soil: Benefits from organic matter buffering; feed less frequently, pH ~6.0–7.0.
Coco Coir: Inert medium; feed every watering, require Cal-Mag supplementation, pH 5.8–6.2.
Hydroponics: Precise nutrient control is critical; pH 5.5–6.0, monitor EC continuously?

II - NPK Ratios for Vegetable Growth Stages

For vegetables, the ideal NPK ratio changes with the plant’s growth stage. The general rule is “Phosphorus first, Nitrogen mid-season, Potassium last”

Germination & Seedling Stage
Goal: Stimulate root development and seedling vigor.
NPK ratio: Low N – High P – Low K (e.g., 5-10-5, 6-12-6, 8-16-8) risso-chemical.com+1.

Phosphorus supports root initiation and early vigor.

Vegetative Stage
